The Power of the Shadow: What You Deny Controls You, What You Face Transforms You

Eclipses are moments when the sky reminds us that nothing remains the same.
The light disappears, the shadow takes over, and everything that seemed stable begins to tremble.

It’s no coincidence that, throughout history, these celestial events have been met with awe and fear.
Eclipses come to shake us—to dismantle the illusion of control and reveal what we prefer to hide. They are calls from destiny.

This year, the eclipse season took us through the Virgo–Pisces axis: two energies that seem opposite, yet complement each other deeply.
Pisces invited us to let go, to trust the invisible, and to embrace our vulnerability.
Virgo asked us for order, coherence, grounding, and care in the everyday.

Between the two, we’ve moved between chaos and organization, sensitivity and practicality, surrender and discipline.

Now that this season is coming to a close with the New Moon in Libra on October 21, we have the opportunity to look back and ask ourselves:
• What lessons did these eclipses bring me?
• What did they take from my life that no longer made sense to hold onto?
• What did I learn about myself through all these shifts?

And if you don’t have clear answers yet, don’t worry—the sky always gives us second chances.

On October 23, Scorpio season begins, and with it comes a new invitation: to look deeper, to embrace your shadow, and to allow what’s been hidden to come to light and be transformed.

The Virgo–Pisces Axis: Between Soul and Body

Every eclipse activates an axis of polarity, and this one played out between Pisces and Virgo—two energies that seem opposite but are, in truth, deeply complementary.

• Pisces invites us to dissolve, to trust, to surrender to the invisible—to intuition and sensitivity.
• Virgo calls us back to earth, to order, to the practical, to caring for the body and the details of daily life.

Together, they form a bridge between the ethereal and the tangible, between faith and action, chaos and organization.

But here lies the challenge:
Do you stay sheltered in Pisces’ clouds, avoiding reality?
Or do you trap yourself in Virgo’s rigidity, controlling every movement out of fear of letting go?

The Health Axis: Body, Mind, Emotions, and Spirit

The Virgo–Pisces axis doesn’t just speak about order and surrender—it’s also the axis of health.
And during eclipse season, when everything intensifies, it’s common for the body and emotions to speak louder.

Virgo reminds us of the importance of caring for physical health: food, rest, movement, and the routines that sustain daily life.
Pisces connects us to emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being—how we process our feelings, nourish our thoughts, and create space for inner connection.

When these levels are out of balance, eclipses make it clear.
Often, when we resist seeing what life is trying to show us, discomfort manifests in the body as a signal that something deeper needs attention.

True health isn’t about muscles or perfect routines—it’s about giving space to every dimension of our being.

Ask yourself:
• How am I caring for my physical body?
• Am I giving space to my emotions, even when they’re uncomfortable?
• What thoughts am I feeding every day?
• Am I gifting myself moments of silence or spiritual connection?

Real balance emerges when we stop focusing on a single layer of our being and start tending to ourselves as a whole.

What the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces Revealed

The lunar eclipse in Pisces was an uncomfortable mirror.
It showed us where we run away from ourselves, where we numb our feelings, and where we lose ourselves in illusions that eventually turn to fog.

It was a call to stop escaping and start trusting—to remember that vulnerability is not weakness but the beginning of true strength.
That something familiar, yet outdated, must leave our lives.

I don’t know how you experienced it, but for me, it was powerful.
It showed me repetitive patterns I thought I had already integrated—and I hadn’t.
They resurfaced, and I fell right into the trap again.

During eclipse season, things happen. Everything becomes more obvious—sometimes even absurd—so that we have no doubts left about what’s no longer aligned.

What the Solar Eclipse in Virgo Left Us

On September 21, we had the second New Moon in Virgo, accompanied by a solar eclipse.
It was a clear reminder that it’s time to organize.

Virgo doesn’t allow us to escape.
It asks us to look at our daily lives, our small habits, and ask:
• What needs to be purified?
• What structures in my life no longer support me?
• What habits are pulling me away from coherence—between what I feel, think, and do?

And as if that wasn’t enough, the next day came the Libra Equinox, a symbol of balance and the middle path.
Its invitation remains alive: it’s not enough to release or cleanse—we must create an order that restores harmony and, above all, peace.

The Uncomfortable Gift of Eclipses

Yes, eclipses are uncomfortable.
They shake the carpets where we hide what we don’t want to see.
They force us to release what we cling to in fear.
They reveal how fragile our plans are and how false our certainties can be.

But therein lies the gift: when we stop resisting, we discover that even amid chaos, we can find calm.
That letting go isn’t losing—it’s making space.
That surrender isn’t giving up—it’s trusting.

Signs That I’m Avoiding Myself

Eclipses don’t just reveal light and shadow in the sky—they activate those same dynamics within us, showing how we escape from what we don’t want to face in ourselves.
And both Pisces and Virgo have their own ways of doing that:

Piscean escapes:
• I take refuge in fantasy and daydreams, leaving everything for “tomorrow.”
• I get lost in the victim role, waiting for others to rescue me—or I become the savior, trying to fix others so I don’t have to face myself.
• I use distractions (series, social media, food, alcohol, drugs, rootless spirituality) to avoid what hurts.
• I convince myself that “everything’s fine,” even when chaos brews inside.

Virgoan escapes:
• I obsess over control, making sure nothing slips out of place.
• I get lost in details, never feeling that anything is “good enough.”
• I fill my time with endless tasks and lists to avoid listening to myself.
• I demand perfection from myself and others, thinking it will cover the emptiness within.
• I become so helpful, trying to fix everyone’s life, just to avoid dealing with my own.

Ask yourself:
• In what ways am I avoiding myself today?
• Am I escaping through fantasy and disconnection (Pisces)?
• Or hiding behind control and perfection (Virgo)?
• What signs have I been receiving since August? What stories have repeated in my life again?

Recognizing these signs is the first step to reclaiming your power and choosing a new way of being present.

Practical Keys to Integrate This Energy

How can we move through this time without getting lost in confusion or anxiety?
Here are some guiding lights:

  1. Breathe and trust. Every intense emotion is a bridge to a part of you that wants to be heard. Breathe deeply, don’t run from it. (If you need guidance, here’s a free conscious breathing exercise you can download.)

  2. Bring order to your world. Clean your home, your schedule, your body, your relationships—the ones you only maintain out of obligation but no longer want. The outer always reflects the inner.

  3. Listen to your body. It records what your mind refuses to say. Take a moment each day to scan and feel it.

  4. Embrace the void. Not everything needs to be solved right now. Allow silence to bring new answers. Clarity comes after the storm.

  5. Create small rituals. A conscious breath in the morning, a few pages of journaling, a mindful walk. Simple anchors to hold yourself amid the storm.

  6. Ask for help if you can’t break the loop. It’s an act of humility to admit you can’t do it alone.

  7. Choose to respond instead of react. If you always react the same way, the result will always be the same. Awareness of your reactions is the only path to transformation. Changing your response changes your story.

  8. Care for every level of your health. The Virgo–Pisces axis reminds us we are a whole being—and none of our dimensions can be neglected:
Physical body: move consciously, rest well, eat in ways that give you vitality.
Emotional body: allow yourself to feel, write what’s inside you, find healthy outlets (crying, dancing, creating).
Mental body: meditate or observe your thoughts—choose which ideas to feed and which ones no longer deserve your attention.
Spiritual body: connect with what transcends you—through rituals, nature, prayer, or contemplation.

A Necessary Closure

Eclipses don’t come to destroy us.
They come to remind us that we are alive and constantly changing.

They are portals of deep transformation—of endings and beginnings, of shadows that, when faced, return the light even brighter.

And now that this season says goodbye, the question is simple but powerful:
What do you choose to take as a lesson from this cycle?

And if you still don’t know, breathe—
the journey continues,
and Scorpio will give you another chance to face your shadow… and turn it into your greatest power.
